女性誌には｢自分らしい生き方｣とかいうお題目で、30代独身を肯定するような記事がいろいろと載ってる。「それこそが先進的で現代的な生き方だ」と言わんばかりに。

私はそういう雑誌で編集やってたことがあるから本当のことを書きますけど、作ってるほうはそんなこと信じちゃいません。ライターともよく話しました。｢こんな心にもないこと、よく書けるな～｣｢目的は現実逃避ですからね。 じゃなかったら、30代独身女性は読んでくれないですよ｣　内心、「30代独身は終わってるよなぁ」と思いつつも、30代独身ライフを賛美する記事を掲載する。でもね、そういう特集を掲載すると反響がいいんですよ。｢私の生き方は間違ってなかった｣という読者カードが山ほど届く。間違ってるって(笑)。

まあ単なる売れ残りに、自己肯定の機会と人生への夢が与えられるし、たとえウソの企画でも、勘違いしてくれれば発行部数が上がるからいいけどね。
